Festival Wedding Photography – Louise + Adrian

As a Bristol Wedding Photographer I get to shoot many different types of weddings though I have to say that shooting festival wedding photography is always a joy and Louise and Adrian were a pleasure to work with.

On the day I arrived early to take some shots of Louise and her bridal party as they got ready. Everybody was in good spirits.

Louise looked amazing in her lace detail dress. Its low back and full train gave me the idea to take the black and white shot of her from the back peeking through the curtains to allow the light to flood in. Take a look at the image. It’s one of my favourite dress shots ever.

Louise and Adrian had a traditional church ceremony and in true festival style Louise arrived in a lovely blue VW camper van.

Now as a Bristol wedding photographer I can tell you that the grooms party suits can be a bit samey-samey for each wedding I go to so it was great to see Adrian and his boys in red trousers and tie. They looked brilliant with the prize for the smartest going to Louise’s son! Sorry Adrian, he just pipped you!

After the ceremony there was a great confetti moment before everybody headed to PELLFEST. The newly married Mr. and Mrs. Pell really had fun setting up their festival wedding.

There were personalised wristbands, colour canons, face glitter, concession stands, a bouncy castle, swing ball, skittles and table flowers arranged in wellies. Everything that you could hope for when shooting festival wedding photography. Louise and Adrian’s guests loved it!

Another reason I love shooting festival wedding photography is because guests really relax. The outside space makes things family friendly (let’s face it a bouncy castle can keep most people happy for hours!) So happy children means relaxed adults allowing me to capture everybody having a good time.

As a Bristol wedding photographer I see marquees all the time but Louise and Adrian’s wedding reception was held in a stretch tent with a fantastic dancefloor. It had a great clean and modern look that really worked with the festival vibe. Take a look.

After everybody had enjoyed a drink and a mill about there were some joyous and emotional speeches that were very well received.

As the afternoon went on with guests enjoying the sunshine, the activities and the concession stands I whisked Louise and Adrian away to take some portrait shots of the two of them. The late afternoon sunshine gave me the best light to take the shots. Take a look, they were my favourites of the day.

Evening entertainment kick started with a fantastic first dance by Louise and Adrian after which their guests weren’t shy about joining them on the dancefloor.

Before taking my leave I took a shot, just before sunset, of Louise and Adrian’s guests relaxing, playing and chatting. It felt like the perfect image to close the story of their day.

Festival wedding photography doesn’t get much better than this. Congratulations to Louise and Adrian for getting married. It was a fantastic day. Being a Bristol wedding photographer really is the best job in the world!
