Wedding Photographer of the Year 2022/23

I’m absolutely delighted to have won the South West and Cotswolds Wedding Photographer of the Year in the 2022-23 British Institute of Professional Photography regional print competition. This is the first time I have entered a competition despite having been a full time professional photographer for the last decade (what can I say, I’ve been busy!) so I’m absolutely delighted to have come first.

Here’s what the BIPP have to say:

To receive this award shows creativity, flair and style, a great achievement and should be celebrated.

The British Institute of Professional Photography Awards which is the leading qualifying body for professional photographers celebrates the very best international photography, highlighting some of the most creative emerging talent.

This award recognises the excellence in standards above all others.

Talking about this year’s submissions and the winning image, CEO Martin Baynes comments: “The quality of this year’s entries was very high, with many wonderful and creative images in all genres. Myself and the judges were blown away by the talent and creativity shown.

I scored merits for 10 of the 12 photos I entered and here are my top 10 from the competition:

“After the speeches” at Old Down Manor
“Stone Arches” at Grittleton House
“Leading lights to love” at The Hare and Hounds Tetbury
“Silhouettes In The Grass” At Coombe Lodge
“Diamonds Are Forever” at Old Down Manor
“Sail Away” Bath
“Busy Morning”
“Stairway to Heaven” at Grittleton House
“Reflection of You” at Hotel Du Vin Bristol
“Getting the gang ready”
