8 of my favourite wedding venues in Bristol 2019

Are you looking for a place to get married in Bristol? As a wedding photographer, I am often asked which venue is my favourite. This is an almost impossible question to answer, there are so many great venues in and around Bristol that I couldn’t possible pick just one! So below I’ve listed 8 of my favourite wedding venues in Bristol along with a couple of my favourite photos I have taken there.

If you have any questions about my experiences at these venues or if you have another venue you think I should add to my next list (I’m sure there will be the odd venue manager who will come across this post too!) then get in touch, I’d love to hear from you ?

In no particular order, here are 8 of my favourite venues

Coombe Lodge 1

Gorgeous inside and out, Coombe Lodge has loads of great options for photos. The rooms all have huge windows too which makes for fantastic light even in the middle of winter. If you want to see more here is a Coombe Lodge wedding in Summer and Coombe Lodge in Winter.

Old Down Estate 1

Old Down Estate

Old Down Manor was refurbished a few years ago at a cost of £5m (random fact – I was the photographer for the architects wedding, he didn’t get married at Old Down though). Now it’s a gorgeous, light and impressive venue. The views out over the Severn estuary are lovely and it has a pretty impressive garden and grounds to boot.

A modernised 18th Century farm, this venue combines great eco credentials with a stunning natural setting. I love Folly Farm because of the amazing views; the surrounding countryside makes the perfect backdrop for some really great photos. Have a look at a Folly Farm wedding I photographed.

Berwick Lodge

An impressive Victorian country house that was built as a wedding present and viewed on Valentines Day by its current owners. Berwick Lodge is a perfect wedding venue with exclusive use and an intimate feel. It boasts views across the South West into Wales and has expansive grounds, full of interesting features that make for great spots for the couples shoot.

Avon Gorge by Hotel Du Vin

Avon Gorge Hotel is all about the iconic suspension bridge. There is an impressive panorama from the terrace which includes the best view in Bristol of the bridge. The hotel recently had a complete refurb (which tbh, it really needed) and is now looking very classy throughout. The light in the dining room is particularly good. You can see one of my Avon Gorge Hotel weddings here.
